Rangetops

Upgrade your kitchen with the Proline gas rangetop, a pro-style cooktop designed for serious home chefs. Available in 30-inch, 36-inch, and 48-inch models, this high-performance gas range delivers powerful burners, precision control, and a spacious convection oven—all in a sleek, modern design that pairs perfectly with Proline Range Hoods.

Why Proline’s Stainless Steel Gas Rangetops Are the Best?

High Output Burners with Precise Heat Control

We built our gas burners with a full range of cooking power available for each model. Smaller units have a combination of 15,000 BTUs on the front and 9,000 BTUs on the rear. This is extended to multiple burner sizes, with larger models featuring 20,000 BTU power burners, 12,000 BTU mid-range burners, 9,000 BTU standard burners, and 6,000 BTU simmer burners, giving you a full range of heat from a gentle melt to a restaurant sear while maintaining the performance of a stainless steel gas rangetop.

Improved control and safety when cooking, as the metal knobs are front-mounted and therefore provide direct, immediate heat adjustment, instead of needing to reach across hot cookware.

Long-Lasting Construction Made of Stainless Steel and a Durable Cooking Surface

In all models, 430-grade stainless steel is used to build each professional gas cooktop, which is often complemented by a black porcelain cooktop surface. This combination offers high heat, stain, and wear resistance, with a professional kitchen look. Sealed burner design ensures surface containment of spills, reducing residue entering internal components and simplifying cleanup.

The cooking surface is covered with heavy-duty continuous cast-iron grates, which provide solid support for cookware of all sizes. The legs are adjustable to provide proper levelling for different countertops and make it very stable when using the stove for heavy cooking.

Fuel Configuration

Rangetops are configured for natural gas operation as the standard fuel setup. Each unit is supplied with an LP conversion that allows switching to liquid propane during installation when required. This dual fuel compatibility ensures the appliance can be adapted to different household gas supply types without altering the main system components. The configuration is designed to support standard residential installation requirements while maintaining consistent operation across compatible fuel sources.

Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes are Proline rangetops available in? Proline PLST Gas Rangetops are available in 30-inch, 36-inch, and 48-inch sizes. Each size is built on the same pro-style platform with up to 20,000 BTU burners, continuous cast iron grates, and premium 430 stainless steel construction — so the performance quality is identical. Just pick the width that fits your kitchen. A stainless steel gas cooktop like this ensures durability and consistent performance.
Is the range top part of a freestanding range? No. A range top (rangetop) is not part of a freestanding range. It is a separate cooktop-only appliance. A freestanding range is a single unit that combines both a cooktop (burners on top) and an oven below.
How much clearance do I need between a rangetop and a range hood? Proline recommends 28 to 36 inches of clearance between the rangetop surface and the bottom of the range hood. Your range hood should also match or exceed the rangetop's width — for a 36-inch rangetop, use at least a 36-inch hood (we recommend 42 inches for maximum capture).
Are Proline rangetops hard to install? Rangetops require professional installation by a licensed plumber and electrician. The cutout dimensions, gas line connection, and electrical requirements vary by size — spec sheets for each model are available on their individual product pages. We always recommend having your installer review specs before finalizing your countertop cutout.
What fuel type do Proline rangetops use? All Proline PLST rangetops are natural gas, and each ships with an LP conversion kit included so you can switch to propane if needed. Gas delivers the precise heat control and fast response that serious home cooks prefer. This makes it a reliable stainless steel gas range top option for many kitchens.
How powerful are the burners? Proline burners deliver up to 20,000 BTUs — enough to sear a steak, bring a large stockpot to a rolling boil quickly, or maintain a stable low simmer for delicate sauces. The 30" has 4 burners, the 36" has 6, and the 48" has 8. This level of output is typical of a professional gas cooktop designed for serious cooking performance.
Are the grates dishwasher safe? The continuous cast iron grates are heavy-duty and built for a lifetime of use. We recommend hand-washing them with warm water and mild dish soap to preserve their finish — dishwasher detergents can be harsh on cast iron over time.
What's the warranty? Proline gas rangetops come with a 1-year limited warranty covering parts and labor for the original purchaser. Full warranty terms are available on our Warranty page.
How fast will my rangetop ship? Orders ship within 1–2 business days. Because rangetops are large items, they ship LTL freight — the carrier will call you to schedule a delivery appointment. Total delivery time is typically 3–8 business days.
