Restaurant-Grade Performance for the Serious Home Chef

The Proline PLST 36G is the rangetop for cooks who want it all — commercial-grade power, true low-heat precision, and the burner count to cook an entire dinner party menu simultaneously. Six sealed burners with BTU outputs scaling from 6,000 to 20,000 mean every pan on the rangetop gets exactly the heat it needs: intense flame for searing steaks, gentle warmth for reducing wine sauces, steady mid-heat for sautéing vegetables, and precise low heat for hollandaise and chocolate.

The 20,000 BTU power burner is the centerpiece. At roughly double the output of a typical residential burner, it brings a large stockpot to a rolling boil in minutes, achieves genuine restaurant-quality searing temperatures on steaks, and handles wok cooking where instant intense heat matters. Paired with the dedicated 6,000 BTU simmer burner, you get the full heat range of a professional kitchen in a single 36-inch footprint.

Heavy-duty continuous cast iron grates support transitions between burners so you can move a Dutch oven from searing to simmering without lifting. Front-mounted commercial metal knobs give you precise, at-a-glance control without reaching across hot surfaces. The 430-grade stainless steel construction and black porcelain top deliver the look and feel of a high-end restaurant rangetop.

Despite its commercial capability, the PLST 36G installs on a standard 120V household outlet — no 240V electrical upgrade required. Natural gas or LP compatible. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty and Proline's U.S.-based customer support.

Bring serious cooking power home with the PLST 36G — the rangetop that doesn't compromise.

FAQs About the Proline 36-Inch Gas Rangetop

+

What is the burner layout on the 36-inch PLST?

The PLST 36G has six sealed burners with varied BTU outputs for maximum versatility: one 20,000 BTU power burner, one 15,000 BTU burner, one 12,000 BTU burner, two 9,000 BTU burners, and one 6,000 BTU simmer burner. Total output is 71,000 BTUs across the cooking surface.

How hot does the 20,000 BTU power burner get?

A 20,000 BTU burner delivers commercial-grade heat — it will bring a large stockpot to a rolling boil in minutes, achieve true searing temperatures for restaurant-quality Maillard reaction on steaks, and handle wok cooking where you need intense instant heat. This is roughly double the output of a typical residential burner.

Why choose a 36-inch rangetop over a 30-inch?

Two reasons: more burners and higher maximum BTU. The 36" gives you six burners instead of four, plus it adds a 20,000 BTU power burner and a dedicated 6,000 BTU simmer burner that the 30" doesn't have. If you cook multi-course meals, host often, or want both searing and simmer capability, the 36" is the right call.

What are the exact dimensions and electrical requirements?

The PLST 36G measures 36" wide × 27.25" deep × 7.5" tall, with adjustable feet from 8.125" up to 9.125". It requires only a standard 120V/60Hz outlet at 2.5A. Refer to the spec sheet on the product page for exact cutout dimensions.

What size range hood do I need?

Match the rangetop width with at least a 36-inch hood, though we strongly recommend 42 inches for better capture at the higher BTU output this rangetop produces. Hood CFM should be 900 or higher for a 36-inch gas rangetop — 1,000+ if you frequently use the 20,000 BTU burner

What gas line size does the 36-inch need?

A 36-inch rangetop with a 20,000 BTU power burner typically requires a 1/2-inch gas supply line to deliver adequate flow. A licensed plumber should confirm your existing line meets the spec before installation.
