Product Description

The Proline PLGI 104 HE is the high-efficiency, fully variable speed version of our PLGI 104 island range hood. Same 360° finished design in 1mm 304 stainless steel, same four sizes — but with three upgrades that change how the hood actually lives in your kitchen: a high-efficiency motor, infinite speed control, and the ability to run an inline blower.

Start with the control. The standard PLGI 104 runs a fixed 1200 CFM blower — you turn it on and it moves air at set speeds. The HE gives you continuously variable control across the full range, so you can hold a quiet, low draw while something simmers and then open it wide the second you drop a steak in a hot pan. No overshooting, no running full blast because there's nothing between "low" and "high."

That control lives on a completely redesigned panel. The knurled stainless knob has real grip and a satisfying weight to it — you adjust fan speed and light levels by feel, without hunting for a setting. Backlit stainless buttons handle power and lighting with a soft, even glow that reads clearly in a dim kitchen and disappears into the hood when it's off. On an island hood the controls sit right at eye level for everyone in the room, so we designed this panel to be worth looking at.

The high-efficiency motor itself delivers 1200 CFM while drawing less power and running quieter than a conventional blower at the same rating. That matters more on an island than anywhere else in the kitchen — there's no wall between you and the hood, and you're standing directly under it every time you cook.

If you want the quietest possible install, the HE also accepts our 1300 CFM inline blower, which the standard 104 does not. Mounting the motor remotely in the ductwork puts the noise outside the room entirely and gives you a bit more airflow on top.

Dimmable PAR20 LEDs cover the entire cooking surface with clean, even light and dial down to a soft glow once the cooking is done. The 1mm 304 stainless steel construction resists rust, grease staining, and weather, making the PLGI 104 HE equally at home over an indoor island or a covered outdoor kitchen. Available in 36", 42", 48" and 60", with a standard chimney included and extensions available for taller ceilings.
