The 12" BBQ High Performance Roof Cap is the roof termination built for Proline's outdoor BBQ ventilation systems. It's a full 12" round duct connection — no reducers, no transitions, no bottleneck at the point where exhaust needs to move fastest.
Sized for the airflow you paid for
A high-CFM BBQ hood is only as good as its weakest restriction, and on most installations that restriction is the roof cap. Terminating a 12" duct into a single 8" or 10" cap raises static pressure, forces the blower to work harder, and cuts the airflow actually reaching open air. This cap keeps the full 12" diameter all the way through, so the system performs the way it was engineered to.
Built for weather, not just airflow
Constructed from powder-coated PAC-CLAD steel — an architectural-grade coated steel used on standing seam roofing and commercial metal panels. It's built to hold its finish through UV exposure, rain, snow, and freeze-thaw cycling rather than chalking or rusting after a few seasons on a roof.
An integrated gravity backdraft damper seals the duct when the hood is off, keeping cold air, wind-driven rain, and pests from traveling back down the line into your outdoor kitchen.

Installation notes
Mount to a level or low-pitch roof surface for correct damper operation. The integrated damper is gravity-operated, so it needs to sit close to horizontal to seal properly — on pitches above roughly 6:12, build a level curb so the cap sits flat.
Keep duct runs short and straight, use rigid duct rather than flex, and never reduce below 12" anywhere between the hood and the cap. Seal all joints with foil tape or duct sealant, and follow local code for clearance from ridges, valleys, and adjacent openings.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use this with a 10" duct run?
Not directly. This cap is built for a full 12" connection. Reducing to it defeats the purpose — you'd be creating the restriction the cap exists to eliminate. For dual 8" or 10" systems, look at our dual duct high performance roof cap instead.
Does it include a damper?
Yes. The gravity backdraft damper is integrated into the cap, so no separate inline damper is required for this model.
Does it include flashing?
The cap ships with a 2 15/16" flange for sealing into the roof. Flashing material, sealant, and fasteners are sourced separately to match your roof type.
Can I install this myself?
Many homeowners do, but it involves cutting a penetration in your roof deck and making it watertight. If you aren't confident flashing a penetration correctly, hire a roofer — a poorly sealed cap is a leak waiting to happen.
Will this work on a steep roof?
Up to about 6:12 mounted directly. Steeper than that, the gravity damper starts to hang open or bind depending on hinge orientation. Use a level curb to bring the cap back to horizontal on steep pitches.

What is Proline’s Warranty?
All Proline Range Hoods come with a 3-year limited warranty covering parts and labor in the first year, and parts only in years two and three. All Proline gas ranges and gas cooktops come with a limited 1-year warranty covering parts and labor. The warranty applies to the original purchaser and installation site, excluding damage from misuse, improper installation, or certain appliance setups. Warranty claims must be filed within 10 days of defect discovery. Customer-submitted images grant DZV Distributing LLC rights to use such content. Proline is not liable for incidental damages. Contact customer service for any claims or questions; specific legal rights may vary by state.

How fast do I get my hood?
Quick Processing: Orders ship within 1-2 business days after being placed.
Large Items: For hoods larger than 40 inches, we use LTL freight with a trusted partner for extra protection. Heads Up: The carrier will call you to schedule a delivery appointment, so be prepared!

What is the Return Policy?
- Returns for non-defective items may be requested within 30 days of delivery. Approved returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee, and return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility.
- Damaged or defective items must be reported within 5 business days of delivery. If your product arrives damaged or defective, contact us within this timeframe, and we will work with you to repair, replace, or fully refund the item at no cost to you. We’ll also cover the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
- You can expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper. In many cases, you'll get your refund even more quickly. This time frame includes: Transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days). Time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days). Time it takes your bank to process our refund request is 5 to 10 business days).

Why do damages need to be reported within 5 business days?
The carriers require a 5-day window for reporting any damage after accepting the shipment! Check your product as soon as you receive it to make sure there’s no damage! Please report any damage or defects to Proline within the first 5 days of delivery.
What does final assembly in the US mean?
Proline conducts final assembly domestically for greater control over quality.
Rigorous Inspection: Components, like stainless steel panels and motors, are tested for performance and durability before assembly.
Finish Perfection: During assembly, we verify that each range hood has a flawless finish, refinishing or improving stainless steel if needed to remove any scratches or imperfections.
