Proline Range Hood Inserts - FAQ and Helpful Information
We do not sell a range hood insert with an external blower. Our range hood inserts come with either a local blower or remote blower. Local blowers sit inside the insert, while remote blowers sit inside your ductwork.
We sell one range hood insert with a remote blower: the ProV insert. You have three blower options for your ProV insert, a 1200 CFM local blower, a 1300 CFM remote blower, and a 1700 CFM local blower. Remote blowers are also called inline blowers. They sit inside your ductwork instead of inside your range hood.
Our PLFL range hood inserts come with LED lights. Our Hurricane and ProV inserts come with Halogen lights. Halogen and LED lights are both bright for your cooktop. But LED lights will last much longer – up to thousands of hours.
Proline does not sell a range hood insert with heat lamps.
Our PLJW 109 under cabinet hood comes with heat lamps to keep your food warm before it's served.
Proline does not sell a ductless range hood insert with a charcoal filter. All three of our inserts duct to the outside. Ducted inserts are always preferable over ductless inserts because they move all the greasy smokey kitchen air outside your home. A ducted insert better improves your air quality in your cooking space and home. It will do its part to help keep you and your family healthy for years to come.
Proline does not sell an outdoor range hood insert. Most inserts are installed indoors since it's hard to keep a custom hood clean in an outdoor kitchen. It is possible to use our insert in an outdoor kitchen but it is not recommended.
Quietest Range Hood Insert
One of the quietest range hood inserts at Proline is the ProV insert. The ProV is the quietest since it comes with the option for an inline blower. An inline blower sits inside your ductwork instead of inside your range hood. It will always be quieter than a local blower.
The Hurricane is also a quiet option for your kitchen. It comes with either a single 600 CFM blower or a dual 1200 CFM blower. The 600 CFM blower is about 5 sones, while the 1200 CFM blower is about 7 sones. Both of these sone ratings are quiet given the amount of air that the fan pulls from your home.
