Dual Fuel Freestanding Ranges | 30", 36" & 48"

The PLSR GE dual fuel range pairs the responsive flame control of a professional gas cooktop with the consistent, even heat of an electric convection oven — giving you the best of both fuel types in a single range. Gas burners reaching up to 20,000 BTU handle searing, sautéing, and rapid boiling with precision. The electric oven delivers dry, steady heat that bakers depend on for consistent results across every rack. Available in 30", 36", and 48" widths and finished in stainless steel, matte black, or glossy white, the PLSR GE series is the choice of the cook who refuses to compromise.

Why Choose Prolines Professional Dual Fuel Ranges?

The Best of Both Fuels in One Range

Dual fuel is the configuration professional kitchens have relied on for decades: gas on the cooktop for instant, visual flame control — and electric in the oven for dry, even heat that doesn't fluctuate. The PLSR GE series brings that same logic to the home kitchen.

On the cooktop, sealed gas burners with simmer function give you the full spectrum of heat control. Sear a steak at 20,000 BTU, then drop to a gentle simmer on the same burner. Below, the electric convection oven circulates dry heat evenly through the cavity — eliminating the hot spots and moisture variation that can occur in gas ovens. For bakers, this is the difference between consistent browning on every rack and constantly rotating pans.

Three Sizes, Scaled for How You Cook

The PLSR 30GE dual fuel range packs a 4-burner cooktop (up to 15,000 BTU) and a 3.5 cu. ft. electric convection oven (3,200W) into a standard 30-inch footprint.

The PLSR 36GE expands to six burners (up to 20,000 BTU) and a 4.5 cu. ft. oven with a 3,400W convection element plus a dedicated 2,800W broiler.

The PLSR 48GE is the full professional configuration: eight burners, a removable griddle/grill, and dual electric ovens — a 4.2 cu. ft. main cavity (3,200W convection + 2,800W broiler) and a 2.5 cu. ft. secondary oven with a dedicated 2,800W element.

Important: Electrical Requirements

All Professional dual-fuel range models require a 240V electrical connection to power the electric oven. This is a higher-amperage circuit than a standard household outlet. If your kitchen currently has a gas range on a 120V connection, you will need an electrician to install a dedicated 240V circuit before installing a PLSR GE model. This is the one meaningful difference in installation between dual-fuel and all-gas.

All models ship configured for natural gas and include an LP conversion kit. Available in stainless steel, matte black, and glossy white. Free shipping.

Fuel Type and Conversion Setup

All dual-fuel range models are configured for natural gas operation as standard. Each unit includes an LP conversion kit to allow switching to liquid propane when required. This setup supports flexible fuel compatibility depending on installation needs. The ranges are designed to operate on a 240V electrical connection for the oven system while maintaining gas-powered cooktop functionality. This dual configuration enables the integration of both fuel sources into a single appliance system for residential kitchen installations.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does "dual fuel" mean? Dual fuel means the range uses two fuel sources: gas for the cooktop burners and electricity for the oven. This gives you the responsive flame control of gas cooking on top with the dry, consistent heat of an electric convection oven below — widely considered the ideal combination for serious cooking and baking. A professional dual fuel range is often preferred in high-performance kitchens for this reason.
Why would I choose dual fuel over all-gas? The primary advantage is oven performance. Electric convection ovens deliver dry, even heat with minimal temperature fluctuations — producing more consistent results for baking, pastry work, and roasting. Gas ovens produce slightly moister heat, which is preferred for some styles of bread baking and braising. If precision baking matters to you, a dual fuel range is the better choice.
Do dual fuel ranges require special electrical wiring? Yes. All PLSR dual fuel (GE) models require a dedicated 240V electrical circuit: 15A for the 30GE, 16A for the 36GE, and 25A for the 48GE. If your kitchen currently runs a gas range on a 120V outlet, you will need a licensed electrician to install the appropriate 240V circuit before installation.
Do dual fuel ranges still need a gas line? Yes. The cooktop burners on all PLSR dual fuel ranges run on gas (natural gas or propane). You need both a gas line for the cooktop and a 240V electrical connection for the oven.
Can I convert a dual fuel range to propane? Yes. All PLSR dual fuel models ship configured for natural gas and include an LP conversion kit in the box. The conversion applies to the gas cooktop burners — the electric oven is unaffected.
What sizes are available in dual fuel? The PLSR dual fuel lineup includes three sizes: 30-inch (4 burners, 3.5 cu. ft. oven), 36-inch (6 burners, 4.5 cu. ft. oven), and 48-inch (8 burners, dual ovens, removable griddle/grill). Each size is available in stainless steel, matte black, and glossy white.
Does the 48-inch dual fuel range have two electric ovens? Yes. The PLSR 48GE features two independent electric oven cavities: a 4.2 cu. ft. main oven with 3,200W convection and 2,800W broiler, and a 2.5 cu. ft. secondary oven with a dedicated 2,800W heat element. Both ovens operate independently at different temperatures.
What range hood should I pair with a dual-fuel range? The gas cooktop on dual fuel ranges produces the same heat and combustion byproducts as an all-gas range, so proper ventilation is equally important. We recommend a range hood at least 6 inches wider than your cooktop. Proline Range Hoods offers models designed specifically for 30", 36", and 48" ranges.
