2. Wipe with soap and water.

Wet one of your towels with soap and water and wipe off the electric heating coil. If your stove coils need a deep clean, continue to step 3.

3. Scrub with your scrubby sponge.

4. Clean off your electric heating coil.

Once you’ve coated the stove with both chemicals, let it soak for 10 to 20 minutes. This is a great strategy for anything from surface-level stains to baked-on grease and food.

If you’re not worried about tough stains, you can also use Windex, Simple Green, 409, or a glass stove top cleaner.

When cleaning a glass top stove, be extra careful about scratches. Glass ranges are much more delicate than stainless steel ranges.
