What’s better than a pool for entertaining your guests? Between the cooking prep area and pool area, this patio is ready for a party. Thanks to the lounge chairs, you’re sure to have a relaxing time outdoors. The lighting is amazing too, don’t you think?

Talk about making a statement! The stainless steel hood and grill really pop in this amazing outdoor kitchen. Using tan wood panels for the backsplash was a great idea. They even had space for a painting on the right to make this outdoor kitchen especially unique.

This outdoor kitchen has it all! An outdoor hood, stainless grill, a small griddle, and a pizza oven. What a beautiful view too. Green and lush! Did you notice the hanging lights? You don’t see people go with no fixtures too often.

Like the outdoor kitchen above, this one combines wood and stone elements effectively. They put a nice wooden mold around the range hood chimney as well.

We loved the view in the outdoor kitchen above, but this one just can’t be beat. This is the first pergola we’ve seen. It lets just the right amount of light in. With some outdoor covers, you can move the panels to open and close the roof. Not sure if that’s possible with this outdoor kitchen, but it’s amazing regardless!

This enclosed outdoor kitchen nails the rustic look. With brick, stone, granite, and wood, earthy colors dominate this space. Which makes the deep red grill stand out even more! I love the contrast between the red of the grill and the sleek stainless steel of the range hood.

This angle gives you a better look at how they used counter space in this outdoor kitchen. The old-fashioned clock is cool too! It’s clear what style they were after. And it looks great!

Cool Double Range Hood Designs

What’s better than one hood? Two hoods! One for the round grill and one for the stainless gas grill. Now that’s proper ventilation! They’re spaced nicely and make an L shape to match the counters. This homeowner didn’t have a lot of space and they made the most of it.

Do you see two hoods here? I didn’t notice both at first! If you want to get your friends in on some grilling, then this is the setup for you! Great lighting too – this is the perfect space for a relaxing evening with delicious food, friends, and family.

How about two hoods side to side? Talk about coverage! There’s one, two, three separate burners in addition to the grill. This family is ready for a party! Looks like they’ve got a nice stretch of green grass in their yard where they can hang out, too. Can I get an invite?

Outdoor kitchen with two tv's, two range hoods and a BBQ grill.

Two TVs, two grills, two hoods, and a giant outdoor kitchen island. What more do you need to throw the perfect outdoor barbecue! I’m trying to imagine the power of these two hoods together…this homeowner will never have a problem with smoke and cooking odors again!

Two range hoods over a table in a kitchen. - Proline Range Hoods.

What’s better than two hoods? How about three? Oh, I already used that line. But honestly, have you ever seen three hoods in a kitchen? The two grills on that island look a little different than a traditional grill. These are Mongolian grills. The food can be cooked while guests watch and drool. With such a large seating area, it almost looks like a restaurant. Or a huge family! Who knows, maybe the chairs and dining area are just for presentation.

Wood Outdoor Kitchen Ideas

What a bright outdoor kitchen! In fact, the wood almost overshadows the hood and grill. But that’s not a bad thing. The large countertop and stool seating make one thing clear: this outdoor kitchen was meant for guests. What a cool dining area. Turn on the TV, cook up some burgers, and you’ve got one fun evening!

Rustic outdoor kitchen with stainless steel BBQ grill.

It’s as if this outdoor kitchen was dropped in the middle of a forest! Don’t cook for too long as you might attract some animals. What do you think about the decorative design behind the sink? It sure stands out. The rustic dining table is a nice touch. You and your guests can enjoy a nice conversation while grilling.

Here’s another angle of this outdoor kitchen. Check out the convenient place to store wood next to the grill. The wood panels let a good amount of light in so you can enjoy some sunshine. In an outdoor space with so much wood, the large outdoor hood and stainless steel grill stand out. They make for a beautiful focal point in this outdoor kitchen.

Amazing views of the forest from an outdoor kitchen. - Proline Range Hoods

Here’s another wood patio kitchen with a cool view! Step into the great outdoors and you’re surrounded by nature. Don’t go too far as you might get lost. What do you think of the bright wood ceiling? Most patio kitchens feature darker earthy tones but the brighter shade grabs your attention, doesn’t it?

Wood and brick outdoor kitchen with new appliances and range hood. - Proline Range Hoods

One type of wood wasn’t enough, so why not have two? It adds some intrigue to the patio kitchen as it’s not all made of the same material. The granite backsplash nicely calls attention to the grill and hood. Combine this with the brick base and you’ve got yourself a rustic outdoor space!

Even though there’s a lot of rustic wood here, something makes this outdoor kitchen feel incredibly modern! It must be the style and color of the wood. I love how the dark wood complements the stainless steel. Check out the trim with decor and paintings. It’s not too crowded. I love this setup!

Brick Outdoor Kitchen Ideas

The colors on the brick are beautiful! They blend so well with the granite too. At the top of the photo, you’ll notice the chimney is covered with wood panels. This kitchen features a unique blend of earthy colors. What a cool view, too. It looks like they’re a few stories up!

The classic red brick. I don’t know about you, but I think it complements stainless steel appliances well. Check out the crown molding on the canopy too. The dark wood ceiling contrasts nicely with the white. And look, they brought a piece of nature in with them next to the built in grill.

Are you thinking what I’m thinking? What’s “H” stand for? It certainly caught my eyes first! The brick features a nice variety of shades of red and black to give this outdoor kitchen a rustic feel.

The brick looks worn, but trust us, that’s by design. It’s a cool effect, don't you think? If it weren’t for the range hood and built in grill, I’d think we’re stepping into an old brick building. Do you prefer a rustic or more modern feel?

Do you feel like you’re on a boat? The fish stencil on the chimney is a nice feature! That and the “Playpen” decor make me feel like I’m out at sea. One subtle aspect of this patio kitchen you might not notice is the blinds. You can cook during the day without getting sun in your eyes. Pretty practical don’t you think? Especially if the sun shines through in the evening.

This brick outdoor kitchen gives me old-fashioned pizzeria vibes. Remember those old brick pizza ovens? Maybe they should add one! This outdoor kitchen incorporates a lot of unique elements and does it well: stainless steel appliances, brick walls, and a wood ceiling.

Small Outdoor Space Ideas

Now we’re getting into the small outdoor kitchens – but they’re just as elegant as the larger ones. The stone tile backsplash has a rough texture and it works so well. Check out the wood trim on the ceiling. It complements the counters and the ceiling. There are so many strong contrasts in this outdoor kitchen and I love it!

This outdoor kitchen is quite minimalist. Hood, outdoor grill, and TV. That’s it! One way to make sure you babysit your meat is to mount a TV right next to your grill. You’ve got entertainment for the chef and the guests simultaneously!

Most outdoor kitchens so far have combined different textures, materials, and colors. This outdoor kitchen is more monochromatic, featuring neutral colors and stainless steel. It evokes a clean, crisp, modern feel. The mini fridge and warming drawers complete this practical outdoor kitchen.

Limited outdoor space is not a problem at all in this outdoor kitchen. It has some cool sea-inspired decor. The bar & grill sign is a nice touch. I’m sure this cook can provide some great entertainment. After they’re done grilling, they can turn on the TV and enjoy time with their friends and family.

Sometimes, less is more. All you need to cook is a hood and a grill after all! The granite backsplash against the tan wall in this outdoor kitchen makes for a beautiful contrast. I’m sure the light is beautiful at night – and prevents anyone from running into anything!

You won’t be able to serve many guests here, but this is the perfect small outdoor kitchen. You’ve got a good amount of storage space, a small outdoor sink, and a mini fridge. This homeowner packed a lot of usefulness into a small space. They cut the backsplash out to follow the shape of the hood as it goes to the ceiling. What an innovative idea!

Outdoor Kitchen Tips: Planning Your Outdoor Kitchen

Creating an outdoor kitchen combines design prowess with a bit of strategic thinking. It's about finding a balance between functionality and aesthetics while managing resources wisely.

Choosing the Right Location

Your outdoor kitchen should enhance your home's flow and not disrupt it. Ideally, it should be positioned close to your back door for ease of access.

Outdoor kitchen with a range hood, bar seating, and a view of the pool and palm trees, set against a backdrop of a Spanish-style house with tile roofing.

Consider proximity to utilities and the natural pattern of your yard.

Take note of wind patterns, as smoke from your grill should not waft into your home or seating area. Also, look at the sun's path; you might want some shaded areas, especially if you live in a warm climate.

Design and Layout Considerations

A modern outdoor kitchen setup featuring stainless steel appliances, a large grill, and a range hood. The stone countertop island has built-in storage drawers and a built-in refrigerator. The kitchen is situated under a pergola, with a scenic green lawn and trees visible in the background.

Think about your outdoor kitchen design as an extension of your home's interior. It should reflect your lifestyle and be perfect for entertaining.

Start with a functional layout, ideally with an island that provides both prep space and seating. Ensure your countertops and appliances create an efficient workflow.

Include shelter for year-round use, like a pergola or awning, to protect against inclement weather.

Selecting Materials for Durability and Aesthetics

Choose materials that endure environmental stress and match your home's exterior.

Stainless steel appliances resist rust, and natural stone or tile countertops offer longevity and elegance.

Remember, outdoor kitchen materials have to withstand temperature fluctuations and exposure to the elements without losing their appeal.

Budgeting and Cost Management

Budgeting is paramount—outdoor kitchens can range from modest to luxurious.

Start with a clear budget and prioritize features that matter most to you.

Consider long-term value; higher upfront costs for quality materials might save money in repairs down the line. Watch for hidden expenses, like utilities or permits, that can quickly add up.

Tips: Building and Equipping Your Outdoor Kitchen

When embarking on building your outdoor kitchen, consider the variety of appliances and materials available to create a functional and enjoyable cooking space.

Choose durable materials and equipment designed for outdoor use to ensure longevity and performance.

Essential Appliances and Cooking Equipment

Spacious outdoor kitchen featuring twin stainless steel range hoods, a built-in grill, and multiple appliances under a wooden pergola with a large ceiling fan. The setting includes a scenic view of a suburban neighborhood with houses and greenery in the background.

Your outdoor kitchen's success hinges on selecting the right appliances.

A high-quality grill is the centerpiece; consider a model with multiple burners and features like a rotisserie or side burner.

If you love pizza, a pizza oven can be a fantastic addition.

Don't forget the sink for easy cleanup, and if you have the space, a cooktop and warming drawers can elevate your cooking experience. Here are the staples to consider:

  • Grill: Choose from gas, charcoal, or pellet grills.
  • Range Hood: Make sure that cooking exhaust doesn't ruin your space, your guest time, or your cooking.
  • Pizza Oven: Wood-fired or gas options are available.
  • Refrigerator: Store ingredients and drinks conveniently.
  • Cooktop: Extra burners mean more cooking options.
  • Sink: A must-have for hygiene and convenience.
  • Warming Drawers: Keep dishes at an ideal temperature while you cook.

Outdoor Kitchen Storage Solutions

Organization is key in your outdoor cooking space.

Cabinets made of stainless steel resist the elements and offer a sleek look.

Drawers and shelves within the outdoor kitchen island provide practical storage for utensils and accessories.

Opt for construction materials such as stone, brick, or metal for their durability and ease of maintenance.

Incorporate countertop materials like granite or concrete for a sturdy and stylish workspace.

  • Cabinets & Drawers: Ideal for storing dishes and cooking tools.
  • Shelving: Keeps spices and small items accessible.

Incorporating Lighting and Electrical Elements

Proper lighting is essential for both safety and ambiance.

Include task lighting over the grill and countertops, and consider accent lights to illuminate the whole area.

Be sure all your electrical installations are suited for outdoor conditions and placed strategically. Here's what you should consider:

  • Task Lighting: Specifically over areas where you'll be preparing and cooking food.
  • Accent Lighting: To enhance the mood and aesthetics of your outdoor kitchen.
  • Always consult with a qualified electrician whenever installing electrical elements to ensure safety and adherence to local codes.

Tips: Enhancing Comfort and Style

Creating an inviting and stylish outdoor kitchen is about more than just the appliances — it's about crafting a space where comfort meets elegance.

Inviting poolside outdoor kitchen featuring stone accents, stainless steel appliances, range hood, and decorative lighting, with bar seating and a lounge area under a covered patio.

Choose pieces and design elements that not only reflect your personal style but also offer relaxation and protection so you can enjoy your backyard kitchen year-round.

Furniture and Outdoor Seating

Your outdoor seating is the heart of leisure in your outdoor living space.

Opt for comfortable chairs that also add a dash of style, whether it’s through a pop of color or a unique design.

Tables should complement your chairs and provide enough surface for dining and preparation.

Consider materials that withstand the elements, like teak, wrought iron, or aluminum. Add outdoor cushions for a cozy touch and easy maintenance.

Landscaping and Decor for Ambiance

Landscaping can transform your outdoor kitchen area into a serene retreat.

Incorporate a variety of plants and greenery to create a natural backdrop that also offers privacy from neighbors.

Set the mood with strategic lighting; consider solar-powered lanterns or string lights for a charming evening glow.

A living wall or vertical garden can also be a stylish and space-saving way to bring in vegetation and enhance the ambiance.

Protecting Your Outdoor Kitchen from the Elements

Protection from sun and rain is crucial in a functional backyard kitchen.

Install a pergola for dappled shade or a tarp that can be rolled out in harsher weather.

For more coverage, a permanent roof over your dining area ensures you can entertain no matter the forecast.

Don't forget the side protection, like a decorative screen or lattice work, for those breezy days. If your outdoor space is close to your indoor kitchen, consider a retractable awning for a quick and convenient cover.
